We are currently recruiting for the following positions:

Duty Manager

Cork Airport hotel is currently recruiting for a focused future Hotel Manager.

This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic Duty manager to take on a key role in our ever expanding 4* Hotel team.

This is a dynamic position where you will be exposed to all areas of the Cork Airport Hotel with a particular emphasis on Food & Beverage & Front Office. Working closely with the General Manager, Operations Manager and heads of department, you will be encouraged to develop yourself with full support from the more experienced managers around you.

 You will have gained considerable skills in your career to date and some of those skills which you will have an opportunity to employ are as follows:

  • Stock taking
  • Employee development and training
  • Social media – management of Hotel facebook and twitter sites whilst on duty
  • Complaint handling
  • Opera and exposure to Front Office
  • Micros
  • Sales & Promotions
  • Event Planning for Christmas, Communions and Confirmations
  • Menu planning in conjunction with our Head Chef
  • Budget planning and forecasting
  • Conference and Banqueting
  • Health & safety, First Aid etc

Front Office Receptionist

The Front Office Department is the main connection point between guests and the hotel as well as other hotel departments. Check ins / check outs, guest requests, concierge services and promotion of in-house activities are all handled here. It influences a guest’s first impressions of the hotel so everything must always be at its very best.

Responsibilities include:
• Welcome and check in of guests, including processing of group arrivals
• Check out departing guests and carrying out Porter Duties
• Be seen as a main point of contact for guests, dealing efficiently with enquiries and any complaints
• Keep up to date on all hotel products, services, pricing and special promotional offers as well as daily VIPs and special events
• Maximize Sales revenues through up selling
• General switchboard duties including taking of reservations
• Project a professional manner with an emphasis on hospitality and guest service

Ideal Candidate
• Ideally you will have 2-3 years experience in 3, 4-5*hotels and a full driving license
• Opera knowledge is helpful but not essential as full training will be provided
• Calm, efficient and organized
• Excellent personal presentation and communication skills
• A passion for delivering exceptional levels of guest service

A great Hotel receptionist is defined by his / her commitment to satisfying the needs of your guests. Priority will be given to those who have the interest and commitment to wow our guests and this will be valued above experience.
